Hiring guide
How to hire a UGC video creator (without wasting your first order)
User-generated content (UGC) videos look like a real customer talking about your product. They are cheap to test and often outperform polished studio ads on TikTok, Reels and Meta. Here is how to brief and hire one.
1. Decide what the video has to do
Pick one job per video: stop the scroll in paid ads, explain how the product works, or build trust with a review-style testimonial. A creator can only nail the brief you give them.
2. Match the creator to your buyer
Viewers trust people who look and sound like them. Selling to UK shoppers? A British creator will feel more natural. Selling skincare to women over 40? Filter for a creator in that audience.
3. Check the numbers before the portfolio
- Rating and review count together. A 5.0 from 6 reviews says less than a 4.9 from 200.
- Badges. Vetted Pro sellers are reviewed by Fiverr; Top Rated and Level 2 reflect delivery history.
- Recent reviews. Look for buyers in your category and comments about communication and revisions.
4. Ask these before you order
- How many hooks (opening lines) are included? Testing 2–3 hooks is where UGC wins.
- Do I get commercial usage rights for paid ads, and for how long?
- Is raw footage included, so my team can re-edit?
- How many revisions, and what is the delivery time after the product arrives?
5. Budget
Starting prices on our shortlist range from US$100 to US$200 per video. Expect to pay more for extra hooks, raw footage, ad usage rights and faster delivery. Start with one video, measure it in a real ad, then order variations of the winner.
